Jason Robert Brown's music has been heard all over the world, whether in one of the hundreds of productions of his musicals every year or in his own live performances. He has been lauded by The New York Times as " ... a leading member of a new generation of composers who embody high hopes for the American musical." Jason's awards include the Gillman Gonzalez Falla Foundation Award for Musical Theater (1996); two Drama Desk Awards for Parade (1999) - Outstanding Music in a Musical and Outstanding Musical; Antoinette Perry Award (1999); Drama Critics Circle Award (1999); Millenium Arts Award, New York University (1999); Martin E. Segal Award, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts (2ooo); ASCAP Plus Award (1993, 1994, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003); BackStage West Garland, Outstanding Music, Kimberly Akimbo (2001); Kleban Foundation Award for Lyricists (2202); and two Drama Desk Awards for The Last Five Years (2002) - Outstanding Music in a Musical and Outstanding Lyrics for a Musical.A multi-faceted composer, Ricky Jan Gordon has enjoyed success in writing for the concert hall, opera, dance, theater and film. The New York Times describes his writing as " ... caviar for a world gorging on pizza." Ricky is the recipient of the Gillman Gonzalez-Falla Foundation Award (2002); National Institute for Music Theater Award (1989); Stephen Sondheim Award (1991); Special Recognition Award from the Gillman Gonzalez-FaIIa Music Theater Foundation (1993, 1994); the Constance Klinsky Award (2ooo); and multiple awards from ASCAP, Meet the Composer, The American Music Center and the National Endowment for the Arts. His musical Dream True won the Richard Rodgers Production Award given by the American Academy of the Arts and Letters (1999).
Adam Guettel, son of Mary Rodgers and grandson of Richard Rodgers, has recently had the distinction of receiving a commission from Carnegie Hall for a cycle of songs for Audra MacDonald. He is the recipient of several awards including the Stephen Sondheim Award (1990); the Obie Award (1996); the Lucille Lortel Award (1996); and the ASCAP New Horizon Award (1997).
Stephen Sondheim has spent his 30-year career writing the music and/or lyrics for some of America's best-loved musicals. In addition, his genius extends to the motion picture and television industries where he has written songs, scores and scripts. He is one of the few artists to receive both Tony Awards and Oscars for his music, not to mention countless other accolades for his talents.
