Thomas Alexander Otto Goedecke's (b. 1991) music has been described as "powerful beyond words," and "wonderfully cultured."  Born and raised in Houston, TX, Goedecke was introduced to music through the world of opera and country music.  Later, Goedecke would become heavily involved in Native American powwow dancing and Japanese taiko drumming (or kumi-daiko). This clash of musical cultures continue to influence Goedecke's diverse interests in opera, composition and ethnomusicology.  

 

A young composer and vocalist, Goedecke has composed and/or performed alongside members of Houston Grand Opera, Houston Symphony Orchestra, Opera in the Heights, HSPVA, Houston Boychoir, American Festival for the Arts Conservatory ensembles and faculty, United States Army Band, Houston Ballet Academy, Dirty Rotten Horns, Kazan Taiko, Ryokyokoku Matsuri Daiko Texas and the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music.  As a composer, Goedecke has studied with Dr. Michael Remson, Joel Stein, Dr. Aaron Alon, Dr. Frank Ticheli, Dr. Donald Crockett, Dr. Steven Hartke and Dr. Erica Muhl.  Goedecke is pursuing his Bachelor of Music in Composition and a Minor in Music Recording from University of Southern California Thornton School of Music.
